During the Bid process for a 9000-foot pipeline project in Long Beach California Andrew Papac, of Andrew Papac and Sons realized he would need to meet the project requirements of close sheeting on 3500 feet of the pipeline. The project owner LA County Department of Public Works was concerned about parallel pipelines that included Gas, Water and Sewer. The new storm drain pipeline consisted of segments of 78” and 87” Steel with concrete lining, and had to be placed at depths of up to 27 feet.
Andrew Papac did exhaustive research on different methods of meeting the close sheeting requirements. In order to meet the close sheeting requirements Andrew began looking at slide rail systems. Considerations included not only the close sheeting requirements, but also safety, cost savings and production speed he would need to be an effective bidder on the project. After looking at a number of systems, he chose the Slide Rail System that was provided by Trench Plate® Rental Co. The project requirements included depths of up to 27 feet, and the pipe size required a shoring pipe clearance of 12’ to make the system usable.
The Trench Plate® Rental Co Slide Rail System has been used throughout the United States as well as Internationally to satisfy demanding requirements. The system has been used in thousands of applications and has an excellent record of performance, when other systems have had difficulties. Trench Plate® Rental Co has been providing shoring systems in the United States and through its subsidiary Quik-Shor® products worldwide for decades. The combination of quality product, excellent service and application combined was enough to convince Papac and Son’s that it was the right choice.
Trench Plate® Rental Co worked to satisfy the project requirements and the Slide Rail System is the first one that the LA Department of Public Works has approved for use on its projects. The requirements of pipe clearance, depth and soil conditions faced by Papac was easily accommodated by the Slide Rail System. The years of experience of Trench Plate® Rental Co provided confidence to Papac and well as the Department of Public Works to ensure the project is a success.
