Trench Plate® Rental Co (TPR) has announced that it has secured the contract for the Rental of Shoring with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. PG&E was incorporated in California in 1905, and is one of the largest combination natural gas and electric utilities in the United States. Based in San Francisco, the company is a wholly owned subsidiary of PG&E Corporation.
There are 20,300 employees who carry out Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s primary business—the transmission and delivery of energy. The company provides natural gas and electric service to approximately 14 million people throughout a 70,000-square-mile service area in northern and central California. The Service area for PG&E stretches from Eureka in the north to Bakersfield in the south, and from the Pacific Ocean in the west to the Sierra Nevada in the east. With TPR’s branches all through California and Nevada, it has the ability to service PG&E for all of its requirements anywhere they have a need.
PG&E has more than 139,000 circuit miles of electric lines, more than 45,800 miles of natural gas pipelines, 4.9 million electric customer accounts and 3.9 million gas customer accounts. It is these customers and the entire infrastructure that TPR has been contracted with to support. PG&E takes their customer service to their clients very seriously. TPR’s ability to support PG&E’s work and service crews was critical to the decision process of who to select as a vendor.
PG&E operates a significant number of crews involved with maintenance and the installation of underground utilities. These crews have come to depend on the consultation and equipment as provided by TPR. TPR’s Shoring products and Traffic Safety products and services are all established to create a safe and efficient work environment for contractors.
